Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Arusha → Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. This park is renowned for its large elephant herds, towering baobab trees, and diverse landscapes. You will enjoy game drives across the park’s rolling savannah and seasonal swamps that attract an abundance of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and over 400 bird species.
In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to your lodge or tented camp near Lake Manyara or Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its scenic beauty and ecological diversity. The park is home to tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and a wide variety of birdlife. On the alkaline lake, you may spot flamingos, pelicans, and hippos cooling off in the water.
Enjoy game drives across the park and a picnic lunch in the wilderness. In the afternoon, you’ll proceed to your lodge/camp in Karatu or near the Ngorongoro highlands for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for one of the most spectacular safari experiences in Africa. The crater floor is teeming with wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, elephants, and the rare black rhino.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the crater, then continue your game drive before ascending the crater walls. In the afternoon, begin your return journey to Arusha, where your safari concludes.
