Overview: The Classic Coca-Cola Route with More Time to Acclimatize
The 6 Days Marangu Route is a longer and safer variation of the traditional Marangu trail, giving trekkers an extra acclimatization day at Horombo Hut. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route”, it is the only Kilimanjaro trail offering comfortable mountain huts instead of camping.
This itinerary provides the same scenic journey through Kilimanjaro’s rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and arctic summit zone — but with a higher summit success rate thanks to the added day. If you want the charm of Marangu with a better chance to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), this is the perfect choice.
Highlights of the 6 Days Marangu Route

Extra acclimatization day at Horombo Hut for improved success.
